Dr. Martens Women's Triumph 1914 Boot - It all began near Munich, Germany in 1945 when Dr. Klaus Maertens injured his foot in a skiing accident in the Bavarian Alps. To make walking easier during the healing process, he designed a shoe with an air-cushioned sole. Using old rubber tires, he constructed soles that had air trapped within closed compartments. He showed his prototype to his engineer/inventor friend, Dr. Herbert Funck, and together they decided to develop and produce the shoes. Not only did the shoe solve the doctor's immediate problem, but it also started to sell well in Germany.
By 1959 the two founders decided that they needed a company to produce and distribute the shoes, then called Dr. Maertens, in other parts of the world. At first, many manufacturers rejected the concept of an air cushioned sole as a short-lived gimmick. However, the R. Griggs Group, located in the village of Wollaston in England, decided to go along with the idea by creating the first work boot with the revolutionary sole. On the first of April 1960, the first cherry red eight-eyelet work boot was produced and named 1460 (1/4/60). To sell the brand name better in England, the name was anglicized to Dr. Martens. The range was branded AirWair and the rest is history... read more... | see price..

Dr. Martens Women's Triumph 1914 Boot Reviews :
I LOVE THESE BOOTS! I WANT THEM TO HAVE MY CHILDREN!
I put these boots on in the store expecting them to be the old heavy, hard, uncomfortable DR Martens that I remember, but I was so surprised. They were super light (for boots), and VERY comfortable from the first time I put them on. You can't tell from the picture, but there's a buckle in the back to fold the top part down, but I like the look of them up. They come with regular laces or a pair of very long black satin ribbon laces which I highly recommend to give a more feminine look. I'd buy one pair of these in every color if I had the money! The only thing is that they run large in size. I wear a 10 in all other shoes, but I had to get a 9 in these because their size ten were huge on me.
Perfect
these boots are exactly what i expected, and more. they look way better in person, not too different but just better. everything about them are great and exactly what i was looking for in boots. my first doc martens and who knows, maybe ill get a pair in brown too. the oNLY problem i had (which is minor)is it makes my feet look wider than i expected but then again ive never owned a pair of docs before so maybe i jts need to get used to that on top of the fact i have exteremly thin legs esp calves. my bf said they look great so maybe im just over thinking it. i cant wait till its winter just so i can wear them lol. all in all they are amazing id defintely recommend you get them if youre even bothering to read reviews on them. theyre worth it.
PS- if ur a half size (7.5, 8.5 etc) get the size smaller. like me, im a 8.5 and i got the 8. and they fit perfect. but if u want the extra room then id suggest to get the half size up...read more... | see price..
